Well-known?? Normally they don't like well-known but if that's what they're going for look at Neil Simon's "You Oughta Be in Pictures." There's a great kid in the show and she has a few good monologues.

When I was a sophomore, I did a monologue from Neil Simon's play Rumors. I did Officer Welch's monologue towards the end of the play. Even though the character is a boy, you can't tell that from the monologue.
It depends on what type of play. If it comes down to it, Shakespeare did hilarious, serious, death scenes, bawdy, etc. monologues in the span of his plays.
