First ensure that your DVDs are made correctly. You'll need to use a commercially purchased (or possibly pre-packaged with your system) application to burn video files to a DVD. If you were trying to copy a movie, you most likely were not able to due to copywrite protection. Use the application DVDshrink to encode these DVDs. If you think or know that your DVDs were made correctly, check your DVD player. Is it compatible with the media that you burned your video to? If not, it's time for an upgrade! For more information about DVDShrink, follow the link in the Sources block.

If you used a DVD-RW, it might work, but only on the very new models of DVD players. If you burned it on a "RAM" DVD, it might work, but only on the DVD Players that enable it. Read your Owner's Manual and it will tell you what types of DVD's your Home Theatre can play. Have a nice day!
You need to find out what DVDs work on the home theatre. DVD-r or DVD+r or something else. Check the manual.
