Please respone! ^^

Question about a metal my grandfather earn in World War ll? What Does a Theater Metal Represent?performing shows

I don't think it was AM. Possibly ET or PT for European Theater or Pacific Theater, meaning he either served in Europe (Against Hitler) or the pacific (against Japan).

Question about a metal my grandfather earn in World War ll? What Does a Theater Metal Represent?say yes opera theater

Medal. he got a medal. Theater medals have to do with different areas of the war. There were several simultaneous fronts during WWII. There was the pacific theater... the war in the pacific and there was the european theater, the war in France, Italy, Germany etc.

You should submit your grandfather's name to the WWII memorial in DC. They are accepting names all the time of people who served in the war for an electronic log or record. I sent them my Dad's name, my Mom's name and my father in laws name. the memorial they are building is very nice and should have been built a long time ago. Most of those veterans are like your grandpa, dead.
There was an american theater medal. It was awarded to soldiers who spent their war years in american territory. He could have been stationed stateside, in Hawaii or Alaska. Large numbers of troops were used in areas like this, or were deployed on ships that remained in US waters. I will be glad to review your grandfather's papers. If you can scan them and e mail them to bama357@yahoo.com I will tell you about his medals and most likely area of deployment.
This is a ribbon issued to GI's who served in the European theatre, during WWII. It is not necessarily a combat medal, because it was issued to all those who served in Europe during that war. Basically it shows that your grandfather was in the service and served in the European theatre during WWII.
first of all its medal, second,it was awarded to american soldiers who had performed duty during the american campaign, thats where the AM comes from, thats the way the army writes about decorations on soldiers orders. But anyways,it was given to those who participated in actual comabat in the pacific with the axis american theater, this applied primaraly 2 who had engaged in anti-uBoat patrols in the atlantic 2.
Your grandfather's medal is the American Theater Campaign Medal.
It referrs to which theater of operations he served with in time of war. For example European theater of operations, or Pacific theater, etc. It certifies that he was in a combat theater of operations, rather than say, a supply clerk on a base inside the U.S.
I would check with the U.S.Army website and see if there is a place where you can check about Medals and Military Citations of WWII.
Theater means the area that he served in. He could have earned a metal specific to his theater of combat (European Theater) it may be better to look it up alone and find some army resources or find a WW2 historian who will probaly be more than happy to help you. You may be able to find some government records to help you.
All a Theater Metal means is your grandfather served within a particular area during the war (normally in a war zone.) It doesn't mean, however, that he actually took part in any combat actions, but the metal doesn't exclude that he saw action. If your grandfather actually took part in action he would have received other medals or ribbons signifying combat participation.

In 199? President Clinton authorized the Combat Action Ribbon for those who participated in combat actions during WWII. If your grandfather participated in combat operations he is entitled to this ribbon. There is no medal for the Combat Action Ribbon.
Go to this web site and see if you can find it.

How Can I Connect My Ipod To My JVC Home Theater?

My home theater does NOT have an AUX input. The only open ports in the back are "Digital In - DBS Optical" and "Component YPP." Is there a special cable i can buy to hook the ipod into it using either of these?

Here are the specs on it: http://www.jvc.com/Resources/00/00/61/74...

Component input is for video, not audio; I'm not much of an expert on iPod's but I don't think they have Digital outputs; so seeing as how your unit only has a single analog audio input, you would have to run your iPod into the analog inputs of your VCR and use it to pass the signal thru to the receiver- kind of tricking the VCR into thinking you are recording something.

Not a very orthodix setup and difficult to use. Your iPod is going to sound like crap thru your system anyway- they're compressed music files. If you absolutley must do it, use an external switcher.

The only input you will be able to use is the audio input (red and white). You can switch the wires back and forth, or you can ditch the VCR, buy a DVD with an optical out, and use a fiber cable to do the audio for the DVD, which would open up the red and white for your ipod. I'm surprised that it doesn't have more than one audio input.

Can I add extra speakers to a 5.1 home theater?

I want to add speakers on the patio connected to my home theater. Is this possible if there are only 6 speaker outputs on the back of the receiver?

You could but you would have to purchase either a Speaker selector or Impedance matching volume controls. Your best bet is to get a speaker selector that has impedance matching built in. Connect your two front speaker leads from the receiver to the in of the speaker selector and then connect the 5.1 front speakers to "A" on the selector and the patio speakers to "B" on the selector. This will allow you to listen to music in both places at the same time with out clipping your receiver. When you want to just listen in one location select that one and deselect the other. Below is a nice unit from two very reliable companies. You could get one for less at Radio Shack, maybe. But $100 and a few feet of speaker wire I think you would be very happy with the out come.

Good Luck

you can hook them up in line with your existing speakers (the same output), but the power will be less and they will always be on onthe patio
What you'll want to do is get a speaker selector box. What you do is hook the speaker selector to the front channels on your reciever, and then your front channels and patio speakers to the selector. then you can play the 5.1, or play the outside speakers, or play both at the same time.

What cable(s) would i need to connect my Home theater system to the tv?

I want to get the audio being played from the tv to come out through my home theater speakers

What cable(s) would i need to connect my Home theater system to the tv?concerts

Depends if your TV has "speaker out" most TV's don't have this function, so you'll probably need to connect the source directly to the HT Processor using RCA cables.

ie, if the source is a DVD player, you simply need to connect the RCA outputs from the DVD player (circular with a hole in the middle, coloured white and red for left %26amp; right) to the RCA inputs on the ht processor (they look identical).

This is the type of cable:-

Does anyone know how to make fake bread for a theater project?

I'm working on a theater project and have to make fake bread. Do you add glue or just dry it out in an oven at a low temperature and varnish it? Or is there a better and easier way to do this?

Does anyone know how to make fake bread for a theater project?playhouse

cut it out of styrofoam

then paint it

Does anyone know how to make fake bread for a theater project?plays opera theater

Everyone has given you good answers, but the easiest one is the one you suggested yourself. Dry the loafs out in an oven, at a very low temperature until it is rock hard. Then varnish it to keep out critters.
You can use expanding foam/crack filler foam. Then paint it. That stuffs magic...and it's pretty fun too.
I would use a salt/flour dough recipe

I have found the following salt dough recipe to be a good all-around recipe for most projects.

2 cups plain flour (not self-rising)

1 cup fine-grained plain salt

1/2 cup water at room temperature

Mix the salt and flour in a large bowl and then add the water. Knead the mixture for about five to 10 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic. Cover with cling wrap to keep the dough from drying out, and let the dough sit for 30 minutes before using.

Then you can mold it into whatever you want....put it in the oven to dry.

Bake for approximately two hours at a low temperature setting: 50-70 degrees Centigrade for the first half-hour, then increase temperature slowly to 90-100 degrees Centigrade and cook until the piece is uniform in color.

If any air bubbles appear while baking, pierce the bubbles with a pin and gently depress the dough. If the dough starts to darken before cooking is complete, cover with a piece of aluminum foil.

The dough is cooked when it's hard and sounds hollow when tapped. Turn the oven off and leave the salt dough in the oven until cool.

Any burns can be sandpapered off with fine- to medium-grade sandpaper. An emery board or small file can be used for delicate or intricate sanding on objects.

Your finished project

Projects can be left unpainted but they must be sealed on all sides with varnish, gloss or matte for protection; otherwise, they will not last long when exposed to air.

hope this helps some
If you have a Hobby Lobby in your town they sale the fake bread.

I think people bake the bread then shellac it. if the play is just one night go to a bakery and good some day old stuff maybe..

What's the best way to keep people from flocking around you in a theater?

It never fails. When I go to the movies, no matter what section of the theater I sit in, people will come sit directly behind me or in front of me when the rest of the theater has plenty of empty seats. Why!? I can't stand it. They always end up bumping the back of my seat, talking, or doing something else annoying. I have tried a few thing to prevent this. Sometimes I'll get a handful of napkins at the concession stand and crumple them up like they are dirty and put them in the seats around me. It works but you can't do it all the way around or it looks staged.

look like a total weirdo. people usually dont want to get tto close to weirdos ;)

pass gas, sneeze and say damn this contagious disease like tuberculosis or even a simple flu
Well if you can stand the smell. Go to a sporting goods store, look for deer *doe in heat* or fox urine, cover scent. Hunters use this stuff. Put some on a paper towel or a rag, use 3 or 4 and place them all around in a 360 degree circle around several seats. Smear it on the seats or just on the towels or rags make sure they are hidden near the floor. For your comfort, put vicks menthol nasal cream in the passages of your nose, just a small amount so you wont be affected by the cover scent you buy as *anti-flocking* device

What are the different types and forms of a contemporary theater?

Contemporary theater is the tools, machines or implements emerging and used todayfor the practice or production of works in the arts.

The question was a good one, the subtext makes no sense at all.

Contemporary theater can be defined as part of the post-modern art movement and is typically based on improvisation and sometimes lacks even a coherent narrative.

If you are talking technology, that's another story. The show I just did ran on computers which tied the video projections and sound together - everything was stored on the computers. There was an option to tie the lighting as well, but I opted to let the stage manager call it.

you truly need to revise your question. the parameters are too large and too vague
